Confident and comfortable: Sizes do not define us – Personal Project 3

My Personal Project was on the topic of eating disorders, body image and fashion. I wanted to teach others about this unspoken topic. Sizes do not define us.

I created a magazine article that briefly explains eating disorders and how they are perceived in today's society. My article discusses, how eating disorders and body image issues can worsen due to fashion and the media. If we replaced the harsh and daunting clothing numbers with beautiful colours and inspirational words we could help save people's lives.

Throughout my project, my knowledge about eating disorders and body image increased enormously. When we walk into a clothing store we look for sizes, these numbers are demeaning and controlling. I hope I have helped change how people feel about sizes and their perception of their body.
