The Arts and Technology Festival is an event that showcases students work from Years 7 – 12, across fashion, art, media, music and visual communication design.
The opening evening is put together for friends, family and other Mater Christi students to see the great achievements of their fellow peers and daughters.
A big part of the evening involves a fashion parade; displaying the fantastic pieces that students have spent all year making.
This year there was also live music from the Jazz Band and the String Ensemble and artworks and performing arts screenings shown throughout the school, with a special exhibition for the Year 12 VCE students to showcase their artwork and folios.
There was a live art competition outside the dance studio which gave students an opportunity to become an interactive art piece themselves! There was also a People’s Choice award which gave everyone a chance to vote for their favourite artwork during the night. There were prizes for the winners and Principal's awards given to the top VCE students.
Catering was provided by Year 9 students and ROAR espresso coffee was served by the VCAL class. Year 12 Media films were also screened at the Cameo in the following week.
The Arts and Technology Festival gives students a chance to show off their artwork and also to gain inspiration from viewing their peer's work. It provides a social aspect for the students as they can walk the fashion parade together and discuss the different mediums and styles of artwork on display.
This year’s festival was highly successful for students, parents, visitors and staff.
