The framework for our Year 7 to 10 curriculum is provided by the International Baccalaureate Organisation’s (IBO) Middle Years Program (MYP).
The MYP encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world and is taught through nine disciplines:
- Arts
- Humanities
- English (Language A)
- LOTE (Language B)
- Mathematics
- Science
- Health and Physical Education
- Religious Education
- Technology
The MYP encourages students to become:
- Inquirers
- Knowledgeable
- Thinkers
- Communicators
- Principled
- Open-Minded
- Caring
- Risk-takers
- Balanced
- Reflective
The MYP culminates in a Personal Project that is completed during the final year of the program. This task requires students to complete a significant piece of work that is the product of the student’s own initiative and creativity.
MYP assessment is based on a set of different criteria for each subject and various levels of achievement within these criteria. For a detailed explanation of the criteria for each subject, please click here to view MYP Assessment Criteria.
