Opportunity to host a Japanese student

We are looking for expressions of interest from families able to host a Japanese student for Term 3.

The College has accepted 4 short-term students from Japan to join our community for a cultural and language development experience.  The girls are aged 15 – 17 years and are capable, enthusiastic and very excited about the prospect of learning more about Australia.

Families who have previously hosted short-term students speak very fondly of the shared experience, new understandings and friendships.

"We made such a connection with our student that she didn’t want to go home to Japan. She is already planning to come back for a holiday. We chat daily via Instagram messages.“

“I would highly recommend this experience as it had a very positive impact on our family and we feel very fortunate to have met and made a new life-long friend.”

We believe this can be a special opportunity for families, creating lifetime stories and memories for everyone involved.

For your information:

  • The girls will join a mix of mainstream and English classes and excursion activities.
  • Students from all Year levels are welcome to apply.
  • A single bedroom is preferred, but not essential.
  • An allowance will be paid to families to cover the costs of hosting the student.

To register your interest, please email Kylie Lee, Registrar by Monday 13 May.
