2020 Premier’s VCE Award winners

Two Mater Christi College students from the Class of 2020 have received Premier’s VCE Awards for outstanding achievement.

Lillie (left) and Lucy (right) both achieved a perfect score (50) in subjects last year - Lillie for History Revolutions and Lucy for Outdoor Education and Environmental Science.

Hansen Scholarship recipient

We are very proud to report that Year 12 student Emma is among 20 students from around Australia to be awarded the prestigious Hansen Scholarship from the University of Melbourne for 2022.

The Scholarship includes tuition, accommodation and access to mentoring, development and other support programs.

The benefits of leadership and an all-girls education

Leadership has been a constant for 2020 College Co-Captain and Dux, Lillie.

When Shivangi was accepted into the Monash University Young Scholars Program in Year 10, she knew it was the beginning of good things to come.

Following her passion and taking up all the opportunities open to her, helped Louise develop and grow throughout her studies.

Since starting at Mater Christi in Year 7, Louise’s philosophy has been to take all the opportunities that come her way.

Subject choice has been the key to Millie’s success, ensuring she stayed engaged and willing to put in the hard work.

She chose a variety of subjects from music and drama to chemistry and mathematical methods which kept her days interesting and varied.

Destined to dance

Emily's love of dance was supported and nurtured during her time at Mater Christi.

Emily lives and breathes dancing. She says Mater Christi provided wonderful opportunities to develop and foster her love of dance, including participation in cheer, pom and VCE Dance.

A big picture view

An ability to look at the bigger picture and a desire to contribute to her community have served HongLing well, and remain key to her future plans.

HongLing has a positive and practical approach to life and schooling.
