Mater Day – 2020

Friday 14 August marked our annual Mater Day. On this day we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption where Mary was raised to heaven.

Mater Day 2020 was different to previous years. Instead of being together physically, were came together in spirit and online.

One of the greatest stories ever told

February 17th, 2020

During his homily at our Opening Mass, Fr Chris Ford expressed that the story of the Good Samaritan is one of the greatest stories ever told and urged us to 'go and do likewise', show mercy, be the mercy of Christ for each other.

Below is his full presentation.

College Theme 2020

Our College Theme for 2020 is 'Shine your light for others'.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

Year 10 Reflection Day

On Year 10 Reflection Day we were joined by special guest, Father Rob Galea.

Father Rob is a priest who comes from a small island called Malta. He spoke to us about his childhood and the troubles he faced growing up. He helped us to realise how we can turn our lives around if we ever find ourselves in a difficult situation.

Mater Christi Valedictory Mass 2019

During his homily at the Year 12 Farewell Mass, Fr Chris Ford urged us to recognise that we are “the salt of the earth”. Below is his full presentation.

In the ancient world, salt was extremely valuable because of its remarkable qualities. There is a story that the English word salary derives from the Latin word for salt, sal / salus, because Roman soldiers were paid in salt.
