My Personal Project goal was to research different mental illnesses and understand, to the best of my ability, what it is like to live through such experiences. I created a book called ‘Live’ which focused on my goal and presented my research in an informative way that allowed me to share my findings with others.
Personal Project – People’s Choice Award
Personal Project – Influential Australian Women
I chose to research influential Australian women because I would often hear how gender equality hasn't progressed very far in Australia and I wanted to see if this was true. From research I realised gender equality has progressed so I did a book about different Australian women.
Personal Project – Australian Stringhalt in Horses
My horse was diagnosed with a strange disorder in February 2016, called ‘Stringhalt’. As part of my Personal Project I decided to make sense of my horse’s unfortunate struggle with the condition, and conducted an investigation through research and observation in order to come to a scientific conclusion.
Personal Project – Healthy Seeds
For my Personal Project I created a kit to help consumers plant a healthy garden. The kit contained seeds, tools and other resources to start the garden. I sold this to friends, family and some of my teachers and donated all profits to Mental Health Australia.
Personal Project: Improvement of Mental Health – Monash Children’s Hospital
For my Personal Project I created a board game and donated it to the Monash Children’s Hospital.
Children who are in a hospital long-term and don’t have access to play resources are disadvantaged in their development and mental health.
Personal Project: Recipe Calendar
For my Personal Project I created a calendar which has a traditional Italian recipe from my nonna for each month.
I decided to do this for my product as I really wanted to capture my nonna’s cooking as she is 92 years old and quite fragile.
