Year 12 Welcome Night

On 6 February, Year 12s engaged in our last school Welcome Night.

We came together to attend a beautiful Liturgy with the purpose of highlighting our 2020 College theme 'Shine your light for others'. We had time to reflect on how we, individually and as a cohort, will shine our light to lead others.

Year 12 Formal 2020

Thanks to @Photosby-Kathy-Watson

The Mater Christi Year 12 Formal was held on Friday 14 February and it was an amazing night.

Despite the wet and rainy weather, girls still kept their hair and makeup appointments and were dressed to the nines, posing for a thousand photos taken by parents.

College Theme 2020

Our College Theme for 2020 is 'Shine your light for others'.

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

Why we are not defined by an ATAR

Amid the excitement and media coverage with the release of Year 12 results, another story gathers more recognition each year… “you are not defined by your ATAR”.

The article below from Year13 unpacks that story in a sensible and positive manner.

Mater Christi Valedictory Mass 2019

During his homily at the Year 12 Farewell Mass, Fr Chris Ford urged us to recognise that we are “the salt of the earth”. Below is his full presentation.

In the ancient world, salt was extremely valuable because of its remarkable qualities. There is a story that the English word salary derives from the Latin word for salt, sal / salus, because Roman soldiers were paid in salt.

Principal’s Desk – 31 July 2017

There are times in the life of College Principal when all is so good… and never more so, than when hearing young voices as at last week’s Senior School Assembly.  Not only were their reports carefully crafted about the various fundraising efforts, sporting achievements and holiday activities.
