Yes, Mater Christi College is an open-entry Catholic Secondary School. We welcome applications from families of all backgrounds, abilities and faiths.

A limited number of places in some year groups may be available, while in some years waiting lists can apply. Please contact our Registrar, Michelle Ring by email or phone 9754 6611 for further information.

We strongly recommend that parents submit an enrolment application prior to August of Grade 5. All enrolments are subject to an interview with the Principal before being offered a place at the College.

There are no restrictions. The College accepts students from a wide area with students from over 50 primary schools commencing each year

Simply complete an Application for Enrolment, send it to the College with the $120 Application Fee and a copy of your daughter’s most recent academic report. We will contact you to arrange an interview and offers can be made at that time.

In addition to order of application and in line with Catholic Education Melbourne guidelines, the following priorities for enrolment places may need to apply:

  • Sisters of students currently enrolled in the College, or of former students of the College.
  • Daughters of past students of the College.
  • Students whose parents are current members of the College staff.
  • Catholic students attending a Catholic parish primary school.
  • Catholic students attending a government or other non‐government school.
  • Non‐Catholic students attending a Catholic parish primary school.

Yes, Mater Christi College offers Senior School Scholarships to Year 9 students and Emerging Leaders Scholarships to students currently in Grade 5. For more information, please visit our Scholarships page.

From Years 9 to 12 it depends on the subjects chosen. As a guide, a typical class size would be approximately 18 to 20 students per class, very rarely above 25. In Years 7 and 8 classes have approximately 25 students.

The College is easily accessible by dedicated buses and public transport links to most Eastern and South Eastern suburbs and only 5 minutes’ walk from Belgrave Station. The Mater Christi College campus has full WiFi connectivity. Students are provided with an Apple device.

Girls can choose to study French and/or Chinese from Year 7 to 12.

Students participate in Physical Education lessons with specialist teachers every week.

Mater Christi College provides amazing opportunities for girls, including leadership programs, sports, public speaking, travel, social outreach, performing and visual arts enrichment.

Music, Dance and Drama are all part of the curriculum and students can also pursue their creative passion through the instrumental music program and the College showcases and productions.

For the past several years we have averaged a 100% successful VCE graduation with more than 93% of students offered a place in further studies.
