Always A Mater Girl

In just seven years Adriana has an impressive list of achievements in the Fashion world. She is now preparing for her next adventure.

After graduating from Mater Christi College in 2013, I was accepted into RMIT Bachelor of Fashion (Design) (Honours). During my degree I had the opportunity to study in Paris and London, create pieces for a Frida Kahlo exhibition in Oaxaca, Mexico and travel to Sydney to volunteer backstage at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia.  

During my Honours year, I presented my graduate collection on the runway at Melbourne Fashion Week and took part in photoshoots for the Aus Hair Fashion Awards and music clips for Australian artists Birdz and Mojo Juju.

After graduating, I worked as a Fittings Manager for a Melbourne bridal label. I had exciting opportunities to work with clients fitting their bridal gowns and on events including the Oscars and Brownlow Medal. I also worked closely with Australian influencers for events and weddings. I was part of a team of dressmakers and pattern makers, bringing bridal pieces to life. 

I now work as a Fashion Design Assistant for a womenswear label and am completing a Master of Business Administration which will assist me in my next adventure. 

It has been an incredible rollercoaster ride since my days at Mater Christi College. The opportunities that were presented at Mater and the friendships that I made, helped me develop into the determined woman I am today.
