CLASS OF 2024 SPOTLIGHT - Disha Adeshara
Disha’s key piece of advicefor students entering VCE, is to always stay ahead in your subjects.
“I always made sure I was ahead of the content being taught in class. I would have all the notes for the current area of study completed within the first week or two of it being taught, then jump straight into flashcards, practice questions, utilising all the extra resources even when it is not required, as well as marking my own practice SACS then asking my teacher to mark them too.”
Disha completed VCE studies in Business Management, Biology, Mathematical Methods, Media and VET ScreenActing, attaining an ATAR of 97.3.
She credits her teachers with providing incredible support and always being available to help students who need additional assistance.
“The teachers knew how hard we all worked to be ready for SACs and exams. They encouraged those who chose to do extra work and would provide very detailed feedback.”
In addition to her academic achievements, Disha says Mater Christi assisted her in becoming a confident, self-assured person.
“My secondary school journey was a period of exploration, growth, and learning. A time to discover new interests, build friendships, and tackle challenges—both academic and personal. Those years played a key role in shaping how I think, adapt, and express myself.”
“With support from staff, peers, and other services, I have truly grown into an informed, compassionate, and creative young woman, prepared with the knowledge and skills required to flourish in my post-secondary journey”
In 2025, Disha is completing a Commerce Degree at The University of Melbourne and advancing her acting career by auditioning for and finding work in the entertainment industry.
