CLASS OF 2024 SPOTLIGHT - Lily McQuillan

Lily is a shining example of someone who has never let go of their dream! She has dedicated herself to becoming a professional dancer, and after being accepted into a full-time dance course for 2025, she is certainly on the right path.

“Halfway through Year 12, I auditioned for a full-time Dance course at Jason Coleman’s Ministry of Dance. I felt a great sense of pride upon receiving the news that I had been accepted. I am committed to never giving up on achieving my goals and believe this course will help set me on the right path for my career.”

Lily attributes her own hard work and determination, as well as the unwavering support of her parents and best friend Gracie, to her success in Year 12 and in securing her course.

“My parents always believed in my talent, funded my classes, and guided me through, and Gracie helped me remain calm and centred in our final year of high school.”

Despite locking in her tertiary course well before final exams, Lily made sure she continued to focus on her Year 12 studies to achieve her best results.

“Even after gaining acceptance into the course, I was still determined to achieve the best ATAR possible because I know that life can take unexpected turns and having a backup plan is always wise.”

Lily’s advice to current Year 12 students is to never give up on their dreams.

“My secondary school journey was eventful, fun and filled with friendships that will last a lifetime. Try to let go of any stress and fear you feel and enjoy the unique Year 12 experience—it’s truly the best you could have.”

In the future, Lily aspires to work as a dancer on cruise ships, in TV shows, movies and music videos, as well as Broadway musicals.
