Spotlight on the Class of 2025 - Viola Turchini (VCE DUX)

Viola joined the Mater Christi community halfway through Year 10 and found it to be an open and welcoming environment. She made many close friends and was able to pursue the subjects that interested her.

“I have great memories from Mater Christi, both academically and socially. My teachers were all so kind and engaging and really encouraged me throughout the year.”

Viola was a dedicated student whose focus on her studies never wavered. She chose subjects she enjoyed, and applied herself diligently.

“The more you enjoy a subject, the easier it is to dedicate a lot of time to it. I’ve learnt that there is no 'trick' to studying. Hard work is key to improvement, and by extension success.”

Viola also says that understanding the subject material is crucial in VCE and encourages current Year 12 students to utilise their teachers, ask questions and seek clarification, as much as possible.

“Ensuring you understand the content, allows for more efficient learning and study, and enables you to apply your knowledge more effectively.”

In addition to the engagement and availability of her teachers, Viola credits her VCE success to the support she received from her parents and friends.

Viola’s commitment and approach to her studies was reflected in her ATAR of 99.3. She was accepted into aBachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne for 2026, and plans to dosome travel during her breaks.
